Your privacy, plainly

The Color Tree and The Color Encyclopedia are built to be private. There is no account to create, no advertising, and nothing that identifies who you are.

What we don't do

We don't ask for your name, email, or any personal details.
We don't show ads or share data with advertisers.
We don't use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
We don't sell data. There is nothing personal to sell.
We don't handle payments. App Store purchases go through Apple, and we never see your payment details.

What we do collect

To understand which features people use and to make the apps better, we collect anonymous, aggregate usage information through a privacy-friendly analytics service (PostHog). This includes:

Product interaction: anonymous events such as the app opening, a screen being viewed, or a sound being selected.
A random, app-generated ID: created on your device so repeat sessions can be counted. It is not your Apple ID, phone number, or any personal identifier, and it is not linked to you.
Basic app info: the app version and build number.

This data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you. You can play with either app fully offline; analytics simply won't be sent.

Data you create

Your settings, favorites, and collections are stored on your device. They aren't uploaded to us.

Children

The apps are rated 4+ and are safe for all ages. Because we collect no personal information, they are suitable for children.
